The Green Mountain Fall Foliage Retreat is an intimate, all-inclusive writing retreat for playwrights who want to step away from the demands of everyday life and devote meaningful time to whatever they’re working on: a brand-new project, an old project, a revision, a stubborn scene, or simply an idea that needs room to grow.

Let us cook for you, give you beautiful spaces to write, keep you supplied with coffee and tea, and surround you with some of the best theatrical conversations around.

Set in Central Vermont during the height of the fall foliage season, the GMPR offers generous, uninterrupted blocks of time to write, alongside opportunities to connect with other playwrights and share in a supportive creative community. There will be plenty of independent writing time, opportunities to share, workshops, meals together, and informal evening gatherings, while still leaving room for conversation, walks, reading, resting, and simply enjoying Vermont in the fall.

Whether you're beginning a new play, returning to a work in progress, revising an existing draft, or simply needing dedicated time to think and write, the retreat is designed to give you the space, time, and community to move your work forward.

And as a bonus, the retreat culminates in a public reading featuring selections from participants' work: an opportunity to hear your words in the room and share what you've been creating with an audience.
